Vail Resorts is making it less expensive to ski at a dozen different mountain resorts this year, making jetting off on a winter ski getaway easier than ever.
The mountain collection announced a new discount averaging more than 30 percent off lift tickets at 12 of its resorts across North America for the 2025/2026 season. The only catch: skiers and riders must purchase four or more weeks in advance of their trip.
“Up until this season, there were two ways to save on lift access at our mountain resorts—you could either purchase an Epic Pass or Epic Day Pass pre-season for a huge value, or save a smaller amount on lift tickets by purchasing online at least seven days in advance—our goal is to fill that gap,” Rob Katz, the CEO of Vail Resorts, said in a statement shared with Travel + Leisure. “While we will always give the best deal to our Pass Holders, with this new discount, our hope is to make the sport more accessible for guests who aren’t thinking about skiing and snowboarding until winter arrives.”
The new discount will be available for tickets to 12 different Vail-owned resorts: Vail Mountain, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Keystone, and Crested Butte in Colorado; Park City Mountain in Utah; Northstar and Heavenly in California and Nevada; Stowe, Okemo, and Mount Snow in Vermont; and Whistler Blackcomb in British Columbia, Canada.
With the new discount, visitors can save more than $100 per lift ticket if they time their trip right. But the actual price of a lift ticket will vary depending on the mountain. The first eligible day for the new savings will be Jan. 5, 2026.
Vail said it expects many skiers and riders to take advantage of the new discount since about 25 percent of all visitors are guests who buy a regular lift ticket (rather than the company’s popular Epic Pass or Epic Day Pass, which must be purchased ahead of the winter season). Less than 2 percent of visitors purchase a day-of lift ticket the day at a ticket window.
Vail Resorts owns and operates 42 mountains across the United States, Canada, Europe, and Australia and partners with many more to provide Epic Pass holders access to slopes across the globe.
This year, the company partnered with Uber to streamline ski trips, allowing travelers to buy an Epic Pass or Epic Day Pass right in the Uber app when they reserve an Uber Ski trip.
