Royal Caribbean is currently undergoing an exciting period of growth—from debuting new ships to developing an upcoming private destination in Mexico. Following the Icon of the Seas and Utopia of the Seas, the expansion continues with the debut of Star of the Seas.
Setting sail from Port Canaveral, Star of the Seas will make its maiden voyage this summer. The ship is a sibling to Icon of the Seas and the newest in the company’s Icon Class, and like others in the class, it will feature 18 guest decks with the ability to welcome over 5,000 passengers.
Guests will discover familiar features alongside brand-new concepts, including a dazzling new stage production of a Broadway favorite and a luxe supper club. Cruisers can find thrills in the largest water park at sea or the ultimate in relaxation in an adults-only suspended infinity pool; there’s truly something for every type of traveler. And adorably, the ship will welcome Sailor, its Chief Dog Officer tasked with ensuring families have a memorable vacation.
Here is everything we know about Royal Caribbean’s Star of the Seas.
Sailings
Star of the Seas will make its maiden voyage on Aug. 31, 2025. It will depart from Port Canaveral and hit the seas on seven-night sailings to the Eastern and Western Caribbean with stops in St. Kitts, San Juan, Cozumel, and more. Plus, a visit to Royal Caribbean’s private island, Perfect Day at CocoCay, will be part of every itinerary.
The cruise line will offer two public preview sailings, dubbed “showcase cruises.” These four-night cruises will offer a first glimpse at the ship and depart on Aug. 23 and 27, featuring a stop at Perfect Day at CocoCay.
Rooms
Rooms aboard Star of The Seas were designed with functionality in mind, including ample storage spaces and USB charging ports. Rooms range from budget-friendly interior options all the way up to the Ultimate Family Townhouse. This bona fide splurge is perfect for families with three levels featuring an in-suite slide, wrap-around terrace with a hot tub, and direct access to the kid-focused Surfside neighborhood. All guest rooms offer 24-hour room service, nightly turn-down service, and a sitting area.

Restaurants & Bars
Whatever your craving may be, the Star of the Seas has you covered. The new ship will feature familiar dining favorites and new concepts, with over 40 options to choose from, including over two dozen bars. Returning Royal favorites include Chops Grille, Giovanni’s Italian Kitchen, El Loco Fresh, Hooked Seafood, Pearl Café, and more. Aquadome Market, Royal Caribbean’s first-ever food hall which debuted on Icon of the Seas, will impress with its menu of globally inspired cuisines. And pizza fans need not worry; the brand’s iconic Sorrento’s will also be found on board.
Exclusive to this ship, Lincoln Park Supper Club will usher in a brand-new upscale dining experience. Inspired by 1930s Chicago, the supper club soiree invites diners to a multi-course journey in an atmosphere that exudes glamour.
And from day to night, there are plenty of bars and lounges to unwind in, including new favorite Dueling Pianos and the brand’s swim-up bar concept, Swim & Tonic, both of which debuted aboard Icon of the Seas. There are other beloved spots to gather, including Playmakers Sports Bar & Arcade, Thorn & Thistle, and Rye & Bean, which specializes in espresso martinis.
Entertainment
Entertainment is big business aboard Royal Caribbean ships—and that holds especially true on Star of the Seas. From a full-blown stage production to an intimate comedy club, the cruise liner will ensure you’re not bored for a single moment.
Star Of The Seas will debut an adaption of the smash Broadway show, “Back To The Future: The Musical,” in partnership with the original creative team. The AquaTheater will present a daring dive show with high-tech special effects and a 55-foot-tall waterfall cascading from the ceiling. Absolute Zero will be Royal Caribbean’s most advanced ice arena yet, combining stunt skating with projection technology for an immersive experience.
Standout Amenities
Diving right into the fun, there are seven pools that cruisers can choose from. Over in Chill Island, families can enjoy in-water loungers at Royal Bay Pool, the largest pool at sea. Club 17 offers a more secluded feel with an infinity pool that features jaw-dropping views. Adults will discover paradise in a space just for them, The Hideaway, and its suspended infinity pool. Sip tropical cocktails at Swim & Tonic, featuring an in-water swim-up bar. Star Class and Sky Class suite guests can enjoy privacy at the exclusive Grove Suite Sun Deck.
And if you’ve had enough relaxation and want to find some thrills, head to Category 6, the largest water park at sea with six record-breaking slides. And the bravest will want to tackle Crown’s Edge, an aerial obstacle course that dangles adventure seekers over the ocean for a truly breathtaking experience. There’s fun for the entire family, with more amenities including the FlowRider surf simulator, Splashaway Bay aqua park, Playscape play area, a mini golf course, rock climbing, and a jogging track.
